Senator Barshinger’s promise to hold a St. Croix hearing on the proposed Alpine Energy Group's petcoke and waste-to-energy plan is being kept. On Tuesday, February 23rd, Senator Barshinger will bring members of the public and private sector together in the Frits E. Lawaetz Legislative Hall to hear testimony on the proposed project and give the people of St. Croix the opportunity to express their views and concerns.
“Each of our islands is unique in their energy needs and each can be unique in the way they responsibly create energy” said Senator Barshinger. “My hearings offer citizens the opportunity to share their ideas, concerns and suggestions for creating 21st century energy with all of their elected officials.”
Members of the St. Croix community who are for or against this project will have the opportunity to present a two minute overview of their position during the afternoon session of the hearing. If you are interested in participating, please call 340-712-2307 to put your name on the speakers list.
"I welcome the healthy discussion on the important issue of our Energy Future." Barshinger says.
